FORMER HEAD OF STATE, Abdulsalami Abubakar RECEIVES BADEGGI TRADITIONAL TITLE HOLDERS

The former Head State, General Abdulsalami Alhaji Abubakar has commended the courage and commitment of the people of Badeggi at reconstructing Badeggi Central Mosque through self help efforts.
He made the assertion when the District Head of Badeggi, Alhaji Umar Sanda Abdullahi who is also the Tafida Raba Nupe led a delegation on a thank you visit to General Abdulsalami Abubakar at his uphill residence in Minna.
General Abdulsami Abubakar said whatever support he has given for the reconstruction of Badeggi Central Mosque was a payback for what they have enjoyed in the past from the Government and the Community.
The former Head of State recalled the good old days when he was a student at Government College, Bida, that the Government used to feed them free of charge, gave them bathing and washing soaps as well as pocket and transport monies.
General Abdusalami Abubakar thanked the people of Badeggi for their visit and urged them not to relent in their efforts at ensuring the completion of the mosque project.
Earlier, the Ma’ajin Badeggi, Alhaji Salihu Yahaya said they have come to thank General Abdulsalami Abubakar for his financial support towards the reconstruction of Badeggi Central Mosque.
Alhaji Salihu Yahaya said that they can not thank General Abdulsalami Abubakar enough for his philanthropic gestures and therefore prayed Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly.
Other members of the delegation include, Magajin Garin Badeggi, Alhaji Aliyu Ladan, the Executive Director of Badeggi Radio, Alhaji Shuaibu Badeggi and Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Niger State College of Education, Minna, Dr Abubakar Kawu Hassan.
Highlight of the visit was the presentation of gift to General Abdulsalami Alhaji Abubakar by Badeggi Community in appreciation of his generous contribution.
