NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT HANDS OVER SULEJA HOSPITAL TO CONTRACTORS

Niger state Government has handed over Suleja General Hospital to contractors for remodeling.

State Commissioner for Health Muhammad Muhammad Makusidi while handing over the document at the Suleja General Hospital appreciated the state government under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello for making the project a reality.

Makusidi affirmed that this is the first time the hospital will be remodeled since its inception over fifty years ago which will include equipping and furnishing of the hospital, adding that the project will cost one point five six billion naira and it is expected to be completed in the next six months

The commissioner who further informed that, it is the vision of the government to provide Niger-lites with quality, affordable and accessible health care services to improve life expectancy as well as reduce maternal and infant mortality rate, listed some achievements recorded by the health ministry which include revitalization of one primary health care per ward, establishing of NI Care Insurance Scheme and also Functional Drug Hospital Consumable Agency to make drugs available at affordable prices.

In his own remark the commissioner for environment Mallam Muhammad Tanko applauded the state government for the gesture, affirming that it will improve the life and quality of services rendered to the people of Suleja and Niger state at large.

In his closing remark the Chief Medical Director, Suleja General Hospital Dr. Adegun Adebayo Adekunle lauded the State Government, adding that, when completed, the hospital will compete favorably among committee of hospitals.
